The idea of cooking blocks is to make easy, delicious and healthy meals at home, without spending hours in the kitchen every night. Through preparation of “blocks”, a home-cooked meal is easier to throw together than ever.
Taking the time to prepare the blocks in bulk, gives you a lot of freedom throughout the week to build a variety of recipes from the same blocks. Some blocks can be easily frozen (like tomato sauce base), so you only have to spend time every 2-4 weeks to create a large batch. This way you can enjoy tomato sauce that simmered for hours, without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
The modular nature of cooking blocks allows you to cook with what you have. If you prepared a large batch of grilled fish, you can make 3 or 4 completely different recipes with this protein. If you have some fried tofu or cottage cheese, you might be able to make the same recipe, just swap out the proteins.
Lastly, this site was made purely for my own entertainment. All recipes added are recipes I like and that fit into my largely pescatarian diet.
