Makes around 5-6 litres of tomato sauce
Ingredients
- 200 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 200 g onion
- 3 celery stalks
- 2 carrots
- 12 cans of blended peeled tomatoes
Instructions
- Chop the carrot, onion and celery stalk in rough pieces
- Blend all the ingredients with the olive oil
- Add all of these ingredients with the olive oil into a blender and blend into a nice puree
- Add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil into a pan on medium heat and pour in the puree
- Stir until the puree starts to simmer, cover the pot with a lid and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes
- Once the puree has become golden brown and smells nice, add the tomatoes
- Add 10 grams of salt, some black pepper and mix it all very well
- Cover it with a lid and let it simmer for 1 – 1,5 hours, stirring it every so often
- After this, remove the lid and leave it for another hour, stirring it every so often
- Pour the sauce into containers and let it cool for a little bit
- Add the sauce into the fridge or freezer
