Pan baked gnocchi

Ingredients

  • Gnocchi, either home made or store bought
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Parmesan cheese
  • spices: sage (fresh or dried, optional)

Instructions

  • Warm your pain until it’s hot (drop of water should float in it)
  • Lower heat to low-medium
  • Pour in a generous amount of olive oil and add some butter
  • Throw in your gnocchi and sage, add a lid to the pan and let them sit for 3-5 minutes
  • Once your gnocchi starts to let go of the pan, and they start browning on the bottom, remove the lid and flip the gnocchi around with a fork
  • Bake the gnocchi for 3-5 more minutes without a lid until golden brown on all sides
  • Serve with parmesan cheese and tomato sauce on the side
  • Proteins can be:
    • light fresh cheese like cottage cheese, stracchino, ricotta, put some of the cheese on the gnocchi and mix some with the sauce
    • white fish on the side
  • Add-on veggies can be peas (mix with the tomato sauce), or grilled carrots
